    Many industrial products are controlled by software. Errors in the control software make the products and users danger. To avoid this situation, it is necessary that inexpected behaviors and operations do not make the products unsafe state. This paper proposes a method that the control software makes safe by conducting "Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)" and "Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)" repeatedly. The outline of the proposed method is as follows. In the upper phase, risks of control software are analyzed by using FMEA exhaustively, and the measures are reflected to the specifications. In the lower phase, risks that cannot be taken the measures are clarified, and the measures are reflected to the specifications and software. FMEA and FTA are conducted repeatedly, until the control software does not contain risk.

    This paper proposes a method that aggregates similar portions in a program into one common portion and redesigns current program structure to appropriate program structure. When a new function is added to an existing program, the function tends to be developed by copying & pasting a portion in the program and modifying its portion. As a result, it becomes to exist many similar portions in the program. In the case that error modifications or changes occurs in the similar portion, appropriate modifications are required to the all similar portions. It would be considered that the quality and efficiency of those tasks are decreased. So that, this paper proposes a method that detect similar portions with minor modifications and a method that aggregates those similar portions to one appropriate common portion with well-defined program structure. As a result, current program becomes to be refined to the program that can accommodate future modification or changes properly.

    This paper proposes a Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method for control program (CP) for space systems. Once a serious fault occurs in CP, a space system is lost. To avoid such situation, methods that can clarify its causes and propose its countermeasure are required. The concepts of proposed FTA methods are followings: preparing Fault Tree (FT) templates corresponding to primitive statements in CP, defining FTA procedure, and defining CP rewrite method that makes it easier to conduct FTA. The proposed method is helpful to conduct FTA. As a result of applying the proposed FTA method to the fault that a spinning satellite rotates too fast, we confirm that the proposed method can clarify the causes of the fault.

    This paper proposes a method of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) for control program. If malfunction of control program occurs, industrial product into which program is installed may behave inadequately. As a result, it causes some faults for industrial products, but it also causes damages to the users and environments. This paper proposes following method; prepare FT templates corresponding to the program structure, extract characteristics of control program, and develop FT according to the predefined rules. As a result, we can develop FT mechanically. The proposed FTA method is applied to an analysis of "spin too fast" fault for satellite, and FT is developed. The result of FT is adequate. This result shows that safety of control program installed into industrial products are improved by applying the proposed FTA method for control program.

    In this research, we have verified whether spring-water spots have what it takes to be the core of the mutually supportive network. Based on this verification, we have evaluated whether spring-water spots can become the foundation of a mutually supportive network. The above-mentioned findings show us that elderly persons visit spring-water spots at their own initiative, and they can build better and cooperative relationships with other visitors. Therefore, it is highly probable that spring-water spots have sufficient qualities to serve as the core for a mutually-cooperative network.

    This paper reports an analytic result of elderly person's standing up action using a support tool. As the results of advanced research, followings were necessary for elderly persons to realize a smooth standing up action; making the upper body lean forward, and pulling legs to the chair's legs. To act those points, we developed a support tool, cushion type support tool with movable flange. As a result of applying the support too to elderly persons, they could stand up smoother than the cases that they didn't use the support tool. Those values related standing up action, such as maximum acceleration, maximum arm force, arising time, antiversion angel, and feet position, were improved. Furthermore, elderly persons felt making stand up easy. We could confirm the effectiveness of the support tool.

    This paper proposes Retrospective Validation method for working Programmable-Logic-Controller based Computerized System. The proposed method consists of three solutions; (1) clarify a validation concept for computerized system that is developed by combining several different categories, (2) Clarify risk reduction measures into four types (task, program, structure, and hardware modification), and (3) Define detailed RCSV procedure depending on the current status of PBCS and development documents. As a result of application, we found that the proposed method reduce the 20% working time and develop adequate validation documents.
