    令和5年度は、ベンゼンヘキサチオール(BHT)とマンガン(II)イオンを配位子とした配位ナノシートMnBHTと種々の金属イオンの金属交換反応(トランスメタル化)の検討を行ったほか、マンガン以外の金属種からなる配位ナノシートMBHT (M = Ni, Cu)のトランスメタル化についても検討を行った。
    一方、水-ジクロロメタン界面において金属イオンとBHT配位子を反応させることで厚さが100 nm程度であるMBHTを合成し、作製したMBHTを金属塩化物水溶液と反応させることでトランスメタル化反応を行った。
    MnBHTと第4周期遷移金属イオンとのトランスメタル化反応の結果、MnBHT中のマンガン(II)イオンはコバルト(II)、ニッケル(II)、銅(II)、亜鉛(II)イオンと交換可能であることがわかった。また、一定の反応時間におけるこれらの金属との交換率をSEM/EDSで測定した結果、銅(II)イオンが最も交換しやすく、次いでニッケル(II)、コバルト(II)イオンが交換しやすく、亜鉛イオン(II)が最も交換しにくいことが分かった。MBHTの電気伝導性は金属イオンの種類によって大きく変化し、MnBHTからCuBHTにトランスメタル化すると500倍に上昇し、ZnBHTにトランスメタル化すると20分の1に低下することが分かった。
    一方、NiBHT中のニッケル(II)イオンは銅(II)イオンと交換可能であることが分かった。この反応プロセスを金属組成の反応時間依存性により解析すると、Ni:Cu = 1:2の点で反応速度がおよそ100分の1に低下することがわかった。この結果は、Ni:Cu を1:2の比率で含むMBHTが安定であることを示しており、過去の先行研究の結果に一致した。一方、CuBHTはニッケル(II)イオンとはほとんどトランスメタル化を起こさなかった。

    A novel conformational analysis method for coordination polymers were developed based on scanning transmission electron microscopy with atomic resolution. With this method, steric conformations of polynuclear iridium complexes with dendrimer ligands were successfully determined.
    In addition, the iridium complexes were converted to iridium-tin bimetallic complexes via iridium-tin bond formation. The bimetallic complexes were precursors for size-selective iridium-tin clusters.

    Multinuclear Ir and Rh complexes comprising dendritic ligands were successfully synthesized with precise control on their nuclearity. These multinuclear complexes were converted to size-controlled metal clusters by calcination under a hydrogen atmosphere. The prepared Ir clusters exhibited hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity depending on their precursor complexes, with the highest HER activity of Ir13 cluster, prepared from the 13-nuclear complex. In addition, the coupling of multinuclear Ir and Rh complexes gave the heterometallic complex, which was available for the preparation of Ir-Rh bimetallic alloy cluster.

    有機配位子と金属イオンの配位結合からなる配位ナノシートは、配位子と金属イオンの無限の組み合わせによって多彩な物性を自在に引き出せる。さらに溶液中の錯形成反応により穏和な条件でボトムアップ的に合成可能であり、次世代のエレクトロニクス材料としての応用が期待されている。本研究では、テルピリジン配位子を用いたナノシートの合成とその光化学・電気化学物性の評価を行った。
    まず、三方向テルピリジン配位子と硫酸亜鉛を用いて配位ナノシートを液液二層界面合成法により合成し界面に黄色の薄膜を得た。X線光電子分光法、赤外吸収スペクトルにより同定を行い、一つの亜鉛イオンにはテルピリジン一分子と二分子の硫酸イオンが配位し、硫酸イオンは二つの亜鉛イオンを架橋している構造が示唆された。このシートは合成直後の界面・転写後の基板上の双方において黄色の発光を示した。さらに、この発色は溶媒依存性があり、エタノールなどの溶媒中で発光がブルーシフトした。
    さらに、同配位子と酢酸ニッケルを用いて同様にナノシートの合成を行うと薄い橙色を持つほぼ無色の薄膜が得られ、X線光電子分光法、電子顕微鏡法などにより目的のナノシートと同定した。このナノシートはニッケル錯体部位の酸化に伴う酸化還元活性を示し、この酸化反応によってはナノシートの色変化は観察されなかった。
    以上の結果は、テルピリジン金属錯体ナノシートの金属イオンの選択によってナノシートに光化学活性または電気化学活性なナノシートが実現できることを示しており、これらに物質の発光材料・透明な電子貯蔵材料への応用可能性を示唆するものである。

    Abstract

    Alternative strategies to design sustainable‐element‐based electrocatalysts enhancing oxygen evolution reaction (OER) kinetics are demanded to develop affordable yet high‐performance water‐electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. Here, it is demonstrated that the spontaneous‐spin‐polarized 2D π‐d conjugated framework comprising abundant elements of nickel and iron with a ratio of Ni:Fe = 1:4 with benzenehexathiol linker (BHT) can improve OER kinetics by its unique electronic property. Among the bimetallic NiFex:y‐BHTs with various ratios with Ni:Fe = x:y, the NiFe1:4‐BHT exhibits the highest OER activity. The NiFe1:4‐BHT shows a specific current density of 140 A g−1 at the overpotential of 350 mV. This performance is one of the best activities among state‐of‐the‐art non‐precious OER electrocatalysts and even comparable to that of the platinum‐group‐metals of RuO2 and IrO2. The density functional theory calculations uncover that introducing Ni into the homometallic Fe‐BHT (e.g., Ni:Fe = 0:1) can emerge a spontaneous‐spin‐polarized state. Thus, this material can achieve improved OER kinetics with spin‐polarization which previously required external magnetic fields. This work shows that a rational design of 2D π‐d conjugated frameworks can be a powerful strategy to synthesize promising electrocatalysts with abundant elements for a wide spectrum of next‐generation energy devices.

    Abstract

    Heterostructures of two‐dimensional materials realise novel and enhanced physical phenomena, making them attractive research targets. Compared to inorganic materials, coordination nanosheets have virtually infinite combinations, leading to tunability of physical properties and are promising candidates for heterostructure fabrication. Although stacking of coordination materials into vertical heterostructures is widely reported, reports of lateral coordination material heterostructures are few. Here we show the successful fabrication of a seamless lateral heterojunction showing diode behaviour, by sequential and spatially limited immersion of a new metalladithiolene coordination nanosheet, Zn3BHT, into aqueous Cu(II) and Fe(II) solutions. Upon immersion, the Zn centres in insulating Zn3BHT are replaced by Cu or Fe ions, resulting in conductivity. The transmetallation is spatially confined, occurring only within the immersed area. We anticipate that our results will be a starting point towards exploring transmetallation of various two‐dimensional materials to produce lateral heterojunctions, by providing a new and facile synthetic route.

    Abstract

    A nickel bis(dithiolene) complex nanosheet fabricated from benzenehexathiol and nickel(II) acetate in a bottom-up fashion exhibits semiconductivity, thereby being potentially useful as an electronics material. In the present communication we perform stepwise layering of the nanosheet in high density, taking advantage of the Langmuir–Schäfer method.
